Self-Billing Your Therapeutic Massage Visits

Effective Date: 01 June 2021

Did you know that you can visit us to receive Therapeutic Massage services and Self-bill your health insurance company for the claim?

You can! There are several benefits to this – one of them being that you can see any Massage Therapist we have on staff, you do not have to be bound to only the ones that are credentialed with your health insurance company!

If you are covered by a health insurance company that we do not accept here on an In-Network basis, you can still receive the healthful and Therapeutic Massage as a Cash patient and then bill your health insurance company for reimbursement.

While each health insurance plan and company are different, there are many similarities to help you on your way to self-billing your Therapeutic Massage visits.

  • You must have a written prescription from a physician for Therapeutic Massage Therapy
  • You must have an itemized invoice for the Therapeutic Massage service performed
  • You submit the above two items with a completed claim form directly to your health insurance company
  • Veterans participating in the Community Care Program, Insurance discount payment options, Medicare and Medicaid recipients are excluded from this process

At the end of each session, we are happy to provide you an itemized invoice for your massage visit that can be submitted with your claim form for reimbursement.

The best way to begin this process is by visiting the website for your health insurance company. There you can find the necessary claim forms and a list of supporting documents that you need to submit with each claim form.

Find this too confusing to wade through? Simply utilize their Customer Service Department on the number listed on the back of your health insurance card!
